COVID-19 Procedures

We are following all the necessary UK Government guidelines, and will continue to update our Covid Risk Assessment documentation, as and when required. We have implemented all of the necessary procedures to keep you safe throughout your stay.


If you are displaying symptoms of Covid-19 then we respectfully ask you to postpone your stay. Please contact us, and we will move your booking for you if you are inside the free three day cancellation period.

Symptoms include:

  • A high temperature – This means you feel hot to the touch on your chest or back.
  • A new continuous cough – This means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – This means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.
  • If you have any of these symptoms, please get a test to check if you have coronavirus and stay at home until you get your result.
  • We use the Government approved track and trace app, and strongly recommend that you download this ready for your stay with us.

Arrival and Check-In

We respectfully ask you not to enter the hotel if you are displaying any Covid-19 symptoms, as detailed above. We will take your temperature on arrival and if your temperature is more than 37.8 degrees you may be asked to leave the building and return home.

Check in is between 3pm and 6pm.

It is essential that you do not travel if you are unwell and showing any Covid-19 symptoms

There is a hand sanitising station situated in our entrance.  Please sanitise your hands on entering and leaving No.98.

Please be assured that all surfaces and door handles and equipment will be sanitised throughout the day.  Your room will have been sanitised thoroughly and no one will be allowed to re-enter the room once this has been completed.

Face coverings should be worn as current Government guidelines dictate at the time.

In England, there are some circumstances where for health, age or other reasons, some people may not be required to wear masks.  Please be respectful and bear this in mind, as the reasons why someone may not be able to wear a mask will not always be visible to others.

During your stay

If you develop Covid-19 symptoms during your stay, we ask that you immediately inform us, head home, self-isolate and get a test.


Every bedroom will be fully sanitised before guest arrival. No one will be allowed to re-enter once this procedure is complete.

Fabric items, such as mattresses, pillows and cushions will be sprayed with an approved sanitising solution.

Our bed linen is commercially washed at a temperature above 60 degrees C.

All toiletries are replaced before each stay.

All unnecessary printed material has been removed from your room to avoid cross contamination.


We recognise that this is one of the highlights of your stay at No.98.

Laminated menus will be provided which will be disinfected when tables are cleaned.

We have to split breakfast into time slots to allow for social distancing and also to maintain the quality of our breakfasts as everything is cooked fresh to order for each individual room.  Please be respectful of this and arrive at your allotted time. On your arrival at the hotel you will be asked for your preferred time slot, and given this wherever possible.  Your preferred time slot may not always be possible in busy periods, and we ask for your co-operation and understanding.

Tables are always sanitised with clean disinfected crockery, plates and disposable napkins.


We can send you an invoice via email.  Please let us know if you require one.

Please ring the bell in the hallway just past the dining room so we can come and collect your keys.  Please do not leave them in your room or leave without letting us know.

Please use the hand sanitiser provided when you leave the building.
